September General Meeting
September 25, 2025, 6:30 pm, Brighton School Gym
In February of this year the PVO Civic Association invited the City Police to a meeting with our neighbors to address questions and concerns regarding crime in our area. Two officers shared helpful suggestions, handouts and answered questions. Some of the things they recommended for the Civic Association to consider were to: install cameras, license plate readers, security lights, and hire off-duty police officers to patrol. Recommendations for individual neighbors were to: report any suspicious activity to law enforcement, keep car doors locked, add exterior lighting or cameras around your home, and keep shrubs trimmed around windows and entry points.
Since this meeting the Board of Directors have been collecting information on the costs, names of vendors and timelines needed to potentially implement these recommendations. In addition, we have talked to board members from surrounding neighborhood civic associations to identify strategies they have implemented.
At the upcoming Sept General Meeting we will revisit the recommended solutions suggested by the police and share the costs and timelines involved to implement and maintain their suggestions and seek feedback on next steps. We have also invited 3 speakers from different neighborhoods to make a presentation on the strategies their neighborhoods have implemented and the results they have experienced. They will also answer questions from the floor following their presentation. Please plan to attend so you can be informed and have a voice.
PVO Civic Association is a group of neighbors who care about the security, safety & property values of the Parkview Oaks Subdivision. The officers and board members meet regularly to address the concerns of the neighborhood, plan fun activities and keep our neighbors informed. The Beautification, Communications, Events, Maintenance/Security Committees and Outreach meet as needed to plan and carry out their responsibilities.
We welcome your thoughts & suggestions and have created several methods to communicate with us.
